Pokémon on Switch: Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori tell us more karim mostafidoun August 10, 2017 Games , Xbox 360 Edit Unveiled by Game Freak at the Nintendo Spotlight at the E3 2017, the next game of the Pokémon license on Switch, scheduled for "2018 or later", reveals itself a little more thanks to an interview of our Confreres of GameInformer. Interview that allowed Junichi Masuda, producer and composer for the Pokémon series, and Shigeru Ohmori, game designer of the same series, to answer a few messages from fans and express their impressions on this long awaited opus. BIG WAITING During this mini-interview, Mr. Masuda and Mr. Ohmori seemed to focus on the fans' expectations and the pressure they generate. The two developers tell us that they knew the game was going to be announced at E3 and that even if they followed the announcement with great attention, they were much more interested in the reaction of the fans after the latter. Mr. Masuda says it's very hard to do the game and hopes that people do not have too big expectations; The main reason being that adapting the game to a home console like the Nintendo Switch is difficult. WHY CHOOSE THE SWITCH Junichi Masuda thinks it's the hybrid (big screen / portable) aspect of the console that convinced Game Freak to launch into a Pokémon RPG on Switch. It is curious to know which mode the players will use the most and thinks that depending on the country it will be different. He also admits that for him the Switch is still a console too young, and that consequently many children still do not have it. Despite this he remains confident that many will have it at Christmas. NOT OVER 40 HOURS Mr. Masuda and Mr. Ohmori also had the opportunity to read four fan messages on Pokémon forums. The first three being "I REALLY want a Pokémon adventure on the living room console!", "I do not understand why it has not been done yet." And "All I ask is that they take the Pokémon's basic promise:" Catch them all, "in a wide open world (an Open World). Which have all received the same response namely: "We do it!" (The game will not necessarily be an open world, editor's note) The last message about it raises a more interesting question: "If it's an RPG with more than 40 hours of play, and with the role-playing aspect in the front line, then I'm happy." Message to which Mr. Masuda replied laughing "Not sure it will be more than 40 hours ..." If the End Game of the Pokémon games is already heavily criticized, it is likely to be again ... wait and see.
